I did it! Snakey, Snakey!

So I had this fabulous idea a few weeks ago that it was time to knock off another one of my fears. I called the best photographer (Mrs. B.) in town to document me touching a snake! I wasn't ready to actually hold the snake, mainly because I could see me getting afraid and throwing the thing. The only place I knew we could get our hands (or finger in my case) on a snake was at the local pet store. Luckily, Mrs. B.'s daughter volunteered to hold the snake for me while I touched it.

We marched a total of 5 children down the petstore and asked to hold the snake. It was called a something python! Doesn't he look scary?

Anyway, the wonderful, non-fearful daughter of Mrs. B. was given the snake and Mrs. B. took pictures of both me and her touching it.

Aren't you impressed? Next we will touch a spider, anyone want to come?
Confession Wednesday-Do you like to hold snakes? Would you have held the snake or just touched the snake?

"I hate Snakes"! Okay, you have to say it or hear exactly like Indiana Jones saying it while being surrounded by snakes. I'm proud of you! Although, I don't want to touch your hand for a long time. And you pick up your baby with those hands? Did you get your fear back?

Seriously? You're going to touch a spider? Not just put a cup over it? I do that with wasps I find in my house btw. I'm impressed, I'm going to need to see pictures of that.

OH crap, I couldn't even look at the pictures. Do you remember that snake, Mrs B, the one in the science department? I couldn't even be in the same room. EW! I can deal with spiders, there are a LOT of bugs in Texas.

I think snakes are cool! I had a pet snake for a few days when I was little. He was about 3 inches long and smaller around than a worm. My mom found him on the sidewalk outside of work and brought him home for me! I would love to own one if it weren't for these three facts I might actually own one again. 1. you have to feed them live food, gross! 2. they are smelly! 3. They have a tendency to escape!

Good job!! Snakes don't bug me at all. When I was little I use to catch garden snakes all the time. Spiders, I hate spiders! Just the thought of going near a spider gives me the heebie jeebies.

Whoa Yonf! Who said anything about SPIDERS???? (Does it count if I touch them violently with the tread of a shoe?)

LCM, I meant to warn you we'd be posting a snake, and I forgot to! My apologies! I don't recall the science snake (unless you're referring to Mr. Chemistry teacher's overinflated ego?). Where was it?

It was in the science building in the place where people could hang out and eat lunch or do projects, there was a snake terrarium in the corner. We were walking through one time, and I thought it was you who joked the snake was out on the table and then laughed as I sprinted through there.
Oh crap, Mr. Chemistry, did you see that I now share the same last name....ew!

It took me all day but I finally figured out who you guys were talking about. I had Mr. Chemistry too as a teacher and as a tennis coach! He did have an overinflated ego! That's halarious!

I have held a snake before but won't even come near a spider! You guys are rockstars!! I'm proud of your bravery and the fact that you did it in front of the kiddos... you are awesome!

LCM - Judging from how that snake story is making me giggle, it's probably something I would have done. So sorry! How did you put up with me? I didn't even make the connection that you have the same surname now . . . I'm sure TD's line got the humility gene!

Yonf - I didn't know you played tennis!
